Doug Smith, Pharm.D.
Doug Smith graduated from University of the Sciences with a doctorate of pharmacy degree (PharmD) in 2007. He was one of only a few in his class selected to complete a pharmacy rotation in Bethel, Alaska where he learned about the native culture and how to treat patients in a harsh and unforgiving environment. He has worked for two major retail pharmacy chains over the past several years but has always wanted to break away from the corporate world in order to provide a level of customer service and counselling he found up in Alaska. Doug jumped at the opportunity to become an independent pharmacist and part owner at Old City Pharmacy in order to help the community where he currently resides.
You can frequently find Doug walking his dog, Dexter, in the neighborhood or going out to dinner with his wife, Lindy, in order to support other local businesses in Old City. Doug has completed specialized training in compounding medications and providing immunization services. He also provides a free pharmacy concierge service to his local community where patients can call him after hours with questions, concerns, or prescription delivery.
“Our healthcare system is extremely complicated and expensive but it doesn’t have to be. With the right healthcare team, you can save time, money, and have peace of mind. Pharmacists are the only part of the healthcare team that can do all of these things without charging you an office visit. We are highly trained medical professionals that are more than happy to answer all of your healthcare questions.”
